What do you get when you cross a New York City lovin’ gal with a Santa Cruz native winemaker? A chemistry that evolves into a vintage love affair we toast to every day.
Mikael Wargin – Winemaker / Owner – has a biochemistry degree in Molecular Cellular Development from UC Santa Cruz focusing on onconology. Upon graduation, he chose to conduct his science in a wine cellar instead of a lab; beginning his wine career in 2003 at Armida Winery in Healdsburg. Mikael has been an assistant winemaker, winemaker and is a consulting winemaker for several central coast wineries.
Denise Coultas-Wargin – Owner – a financial services consultant turned “Fairy Wine Mother.” She began her foray into life in the bottle in 2005 with a visit to the Santa Cruz Mountains and studies at the French Culinary Institute NYC. This former army brat traded a banking career for wine, NYC for Santa Cruz and found her perfect pairing in partner Mikael Wargin.
Zena Wargin – Chief Fun Officer – her history is being written each day, we just hope she doesn’t hate wine.
